Alumni, friends defy rain for homecoming

The threat and arrival of rain forced CSU to be flexible during its 50th Anniversary Open House-Homecoming celebration April 4-5, but many alumni and friends still showed up for the busy schedule of events, some of which had to be delayed or relocated indoors.

Alumni  traveled from several states, plus at least a couple of foreign nations. Kicking off the celebration early April 3 was a good turnout of CSU-educated nurses for the 40th anniversary celebration of the university's nursing program. Check out photos from their reunion.

Feeling creative? CSU welcomes essays

Educating successful writers has become a key focus of Columbus State during recent years, mainly as a result of our 2006 Quality Enhancement Plan. That's one reason the new Faculty Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning has just announced an essay contest inviting students, faculty-staff (including retirees) and alumni to elaborate personally on the 50th anniversary slogan: Enriching lives for fifty years. The center wants to hear how CSU (or Columbus College) has enriched your life.  Check out the details and get ready to write.

We want to hear from former students about their own personal history here as we celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2008. Send your CSU memories and photos to pr@colstate.edu. Check our Memories page to see what we're talking about.
