Essay contest asks supporters to tell how CSU has enriched their lives

CSU's Faculty Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning is seeking entries to an essay contest related to the university's 50th Anniversary celebration and its slogan, "Enriching lives for 50 years."

The essay contest will focus on the topic, "How CSU has enriched my life." Interested writers should choose the most appropriate category:

  • Current students

  • Alumni

  • Faculty-staff (either active or retired)

Winners in each category will receive $300 and have their essays published on the CSU Web site.

To enter, follow the cover page instructions below and submit it and the essay by the Aug. 1 deadline, either by e-mail to faculty_center@colstate.edu or by regular mail to:

Cover page instructions

The cover page that accompanies each submission should include specific contributor information:

  • Name

  • Status (student, alumni or faculty-staff — active or retired) 

  • Phone number

  • E-mail address

  • Essay title

The cover letter should also include this originality clause, followed by the signature of the person submitting the essay:

Originality Clause: By submitting this, I certify to the best of my knowledge that the work is of my own original authorship. I understand that submitting work other than my own will result in disqualification for acceptance. I also understand that, if my work is published, I retain the rights to the work.
