Share your memories of CSU or
its predecessor, Columbus College
We're want to hear memories of alumni and
others as CSU prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2008. Charlie
Smith, one of Columbus College's first students, now retired and living in
Smyrna, wrote recently:
|

Charlie Smith and Fay Tidwell were named
“Wittiest” in Columbus College’s 1958-1959 Grey and Gold
yearbook. |
“My two years at this school
were two of the greatest years of my life … I was born at Fort Benning
and |
raised at Baker Village and had recently gotten out of
the Army and had no idea what direction I was headed when the
college was opened. The school was new, and so was I. The staff and
teachers, all new, couldn’t have been better.

president
but at times a kind and thoughtful father figure. What a wonderful
time at this new |
institution. The staff, teachers and students all were
learning at the same time …
“I am so proud to have been a small
part of the beginning of this great institution of learning.
Watching it grow these past 50 years has filled my heart. I am
looking forward to 2008.” |

Maybe you remember: When registration was more like this 1965

What life was like before nearby Peachtree Mall?
A favorite professor who helped set the course for the

We look forward to sharing
