An Investment in Arts and Culture

Art, Theatre and Music pictureImagine Columbus characterized by a vibrant arts community–a complex of new and renovated historic buildings in Uptown Columbus housing CSU’s art and theatre programs, complementing the music school already located in the RiverCenter.

The campaign is enabling us to:

  Attract faculty of national and international prominence in art, theatre and music.

  Double (to over 300 students) the number of students in the Schwob School of Music.

  Provide CSU’s Theatre Department (the only one in the state authorized to grant degrees in theatre education) with a fine new facility for theatre productions and for teaching.

  Provide CSU’s nationally accredited art program with teaching and gallery space and expanded facilities for its outstanding arts program.

Imagine CSU attracting students from throughout the nation because of its International Education program, highlighted by a unique “Oxford Experience.” The campaign has allowed us to:Oxford University

  Provide a prominent and visible focus for International Education and intercultural exchange by constructing an International House on campus.

  Establish a residential program at Oxford University to provide CSU students a truly unique study abroad experience and offer professional development opportunities to faculty.

  Expand our visiting scholars program, bringing world views to our doorstep.

  Increase the number of students who study abroad by providing additional scholarships.
