An Investment in Technology and Commerce

technology and commerce buildingImagine CSU as the engine and power source for this region’s dynamic growth through technology and commerce. The university will become a leader in transforming the region into one of the Southeast’s premier centers for technology-related businesses. One of CSU’s newest buildings, the Technology and Commerce Center, right, is an example of the university’s commitment in these areas. CSU's An Investment in People capital campaign built on that promise and will allow us to:

Through proximity, encourage a synergy with the combined resources of the Abbott Turner College of Business and CSU’s award-winning computer science program to create a Community and Regional Development initiative, providing research and workforce development in partnership with local business leaders.

Achieve national recognition for the Abbott Turner College of Business and a business education program that integrates business school savvy with high-level technology skills.

Attract faculty of national and international prominence to the Department of Computer Science and to the Abbott Turner College of Business.

Provide distinctive leadership development opportunities and instruction for business students.

Develop a strong program in international business, building on the resources of CSU’s Center for International Education and corporate international connections.

Develop a technology assessment and utilization laboratory to assist local businesses in evaluating their critical technology systems and needs.

Develop and operate a business incubator in collaboration with Georgia Tech and the Chamber of Commerce.

Create an Information Technology Academy to prepare and encourage middle and high school students’ interest in, and preparation for, careers in technology- related fields.
